Introduction

 

The China WTO Moot Court Competition (China WTO MC) is an academic simulation of WTO dispute resolution procedure jointly held annually by Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL), China University of Political Science (CUPSL) and Law and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM). And it is the first time to introduce WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism into Chinese universities.

Participants are required to submit their written submissions for both the Complainant and the Respondent based on the WTO law and precedents. They are also asked to present their oral submissions in front of the panel in the oral round. Participates’ overall performance in written and oral part determines their final ranking.

The China WTO MC aims to deepen students understanding of the WTO agreements, to promote discussions on WTO issues and to assist in cultivating students’ skills of legal analysis and debating.
